I support foundations that address suicide prevention, education, hunger and women's rights. My commitment to giving was ignited when I heard Radhanath Swami speak: "One must earn with integrity and spend with compassion."
I donate a portion of my income to support:
Mission: help people move from dependency to dignity and from poverty to prosperity through a variety of programs.
PW: I believe Father's Heart addresses poverty from the source causes and provides people with resources to become empowered. When I tutor at the GED program on Saturday mornings, the line of people coming for the soup kitchen is hundreds deep. People of all ages, colors, and religions are served.
Mission: To end hunger by organizing food, information and support for community survival and dignity.
PW: No one should have to go to sleep hungry. Nearly one in five New Yorkers relies on Food Bank for food & other resources. $35 can help feed a child for ~2 months, $120 can help serve 600 fresh meals at a soup kitchen, $500 can help provide meals for a family of four for 7 months.
Mission: To provide education, healthcare and livelihood services to women, children and LGBT affected by poverty and the commercial sex industry in rural India.
PW: By providing a safe exit point from poverty and the commercial sex industry, this "Home of Love" gives hope to women and children. "Poverty and illiteracy keep crippling cycles in place" so I donate to help END the cycle. They help over 15,000 people per year with rehab, education, healthcare and awareness.
Mission: Save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. Goal to reduce the annual suicide rate in the US 20% by 2025.
PW: In loving memory of a friend's sister who was a mother, teacher and smile-spreader.
